Villeneuve - The Newest Airport
Located 15 km northwest of St. Albert, Villeneuve Airport is the newest airport operated by Edmonton Airports. Villeneuve Airport was built by Transport Canada in 1976 as a flight training facility for the Edmonton region. The air traffic control tower operated by NAV CANADA was built in 1982. Runway 16-34 and the Main Apron were rehabilitated in 2005, and Runway 08-26 and Taxiway Bravo were reconstructed in 2006.
