Edmonton – Edmonton International Airport (EIA) customers are reminded to arrive at the airport at least 15 minutes earlier than airline-recommended check-in times to park, check-in and clear security during the busy spring break travel period.
Spring break combined with 18 per cent passenger growth rates in 2007 means the terminal and airport services are busier than ever before.
Spring Break Travel Tips:
• Arrive at the airport at least 15 minutes prior to the airline-recommended check-in time.
• Parking customers using Value Park (surface parking) are reminded to check in with the dispatch booth as they enter the facility to ensure a bus is dispatched to pick them up and transport them to the terminal.
• All customers wishing to park their vehicles at EIA will be accommodated. Overflow parking has been arranged with bus service if Value Park and Parkade Park both reach capacity.
• As an alternative to bringing vehicles to the airport, EIA customers can use a taxi service or use the Sky Shuttle service, which serves downtown, west-end and university-area hotels. Sky Shuttle one-way rates are $15, with a discounted return fare of $25. Child (ages 3-12) fares are $7 each way.
• If you choose to bring liquid, gel and aerosol products in your carry-on baggage, please make sure that the items are packaged in containers of 100 ml / 100 grams (3.4 oz) or less, and that the containers fit in one clear, closed and re-sealable plastic bag no larger than 1 litre (1 quart) capacity. Only one bag per passenger is allowed.
• If you’re travelling via air to the U.S. you are required to present a valid passport.
